CALL FOR ABSTRACT AND POSTER SUBMISSIONS FOR THE RESPICON 2024 CONFERENCE

ABSTRACT RULES

The last date for submission of abstracts is October 20th, 2024. This deadline will be strictly observed.

Authors should submit abstracts with a clear understanding that the research work is original and has been conducted following all necessary regulatory approvals, including clearance from an institutional/independent ethics committee.

Note:

  • Papers without registration will not be accepted.
  • First 100 postgraduates who register and submit the abstract for presentation will be given free accommodation for 2 days (on 23rd and 24th) on a first come, first served basis.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.

Withdrawing an abstract: If you would like to withdraw your abstract, contact the email ID mentioned. If not selected for award paper presentation, and you don’t want to present as an oral paper, you can withdraw by informing to email ID: iapnrc@gmail.com

Confirmation of submission: After you submit your abstract, you will receive a confirmation email containing the title of your abstract. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact the Abstract Management Secretariat RESPICON at iapnrc@gmail.com

Abstracts submitted by any other means will not be accepted.

Abstract should be written only in English.

The abstract should not exceed the prescribed word limit in the specified category.

The selection, format, and mode of presentation (e-poster/ free papers/ award category) will be decided by the scrutinizing committee from amongst the abstracts received and authors will be informed accordingly.

Abstract content will be reproduced exactly as submitted; therefore, proof reading beforehand is essential. Please conduct a spell check of your document before submission as this will help avoid typographical errors.

Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.

Abstracts that have been previously presented at another meeting should not be submitted.

The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission before submitting the abstract.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Abstract authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest in the submission form.

If you are submitting more than one abstract, you can use the same email address and password for each abstract.

ABSTRACT CATEGORY & TOPICS

Your abstract should be submitted to one of the following categories:

Research Paper

The text (Body) of the ‘Abstract’ for Research papers should contain no more than 300 words. It should be structured in the following manner:

  • Objectives
  • Methods (including statistical methods where relevant)
  • Results
  • Conclusion
  • References - Maximum 3 references can be quoted in square brackets.

The research papers not selected for 'Oral' will be taken for 'e-Poster'.

Case Report

The text (Body) of the ‘Abstract’ for Case Reports should contain no more than 300 words. It should be structured in the following manner:

  • Background
  • Case characteristics (patient’s age, gender, clinical presentation)
  • Outcome (Result of tests revealing the diagnosis, response to treatment, outcome)
  • Message (one single statement directly emerging from the present case)

Case reports will only be considered for e-posters.

Award Paper for Oral Presentation

RULES RELATING TO THE SUBMISSION OF PAPERS FOR AWARDS

AIM: To recognize and encourage young investigators for their research work and its presentation.

  • The presenting author should be listed as the first author in the abstract as well as the full paper.
  • No member can present more than one paper for the award in one category.
  • One paper should be submitted under only one of the categories of awards.
  • Those simultaneously submitted for more than one category of awards will be rejected.
  • The paper submitted for any of the above Awards should be one which should not have been presented earlier in any conference and has not been awarded a prize anywhere else till the time of final presentation. Papers already published in scientific journals by the time of presentation will also not be considered.
  • The papers should be one relating to original work done in India within the last 5 years.
  • The copy of the paper, neatly typed (double spacing) on a word document complete in every respect, together with an abstract of not more than 300 words, marked indicating the name of the award for which it is submitted at the top of the document as the case may be, should be submitted through the website only.
  • The FULL Award paper should not be more than 2500 words of text (excluding Title page, Abstract, References, Tables, and Figures), and may include up to 4 tables and 2 figures. It should be presented and formatted in the style recommended for Research Papers of “INDIAN PEDIATRICS”. You should check Instructions for Authors at www.indianpediatrics.net before preparing and submitting your paper for consideration of Award.
  • Identity of the authors or place of work should not be disclosed in the Full Paper. These details should be only mentioned on the Title Page (usually the first page) and in the declaration form to be attached with the submission/covering letter.
  • The paper submitted for the Awards will be judged by a panel of judges nominated by RESPICON scientific committee.
  • The paper selected for Award will be presented at the conference and 10 minutes will be given to each presenter with 3 minutes of question & answer.
  • The judges reserve the right to disallow the presentation of the award paper if any technical lapse in the concerned paper is brought to their notice at any time before presentation.
  • The decision of the panel of judges will be final and binding on all concerned.
  • The research work on which the paper for award is presented must be the original and direct work undertaken by the main author (principal investigator). If at a later date it is detected that the work was not done by the person himself or herself, stringent action will be taken by the Executive Board which can include withdrawal of such an award with public intimation.

Only Submissions related to paediatric pulmonology topics will be considered

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Presentation format: Authors can submit abstracts for oral and poster presentation.
  • Abstract Title: The title of the paper should be brief but adequately descriptive.
  • Body text: Limited to 300 words (research & award paper) and 300 words for case report. We recommend using word-processing software (for example, Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. Typing your text directly into the field is not recommended. Please be sure not to include extra spaces and symbols, as these are included in the word count.
  • The text of the Abstract should be structured.
  • Please do not enter any special characters, tables, references, or photos in the abstract.
  • You will be asked to confirm that you will disclose any conflict of interests in your presentation at the Forum.
  • A short CV of the presenting author is required.
  • ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE notifications will be sent by 25-10-2024

SUBMISSION RULES AND CONDITIONS

By submitting an abstract, the submitting first-author confirms that all information of the abstract is correct and has been approved by the co-authors.

The submitting author warrants on behalf of all authors and institutions that he/she is the sole owner or has the rights of all the information and content (“Content”) provided to RESPICON 2024 (Hereafter: “The Organiser”). The publication of the abstract does not infringe any third-party rights including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights.

By submitting an abstract, you grant the Organiser a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Content.

By submitting an abstract, you confirm that the contact details saved in this system are those of the corresponding author, who will be notified about the status of the abstract. The corresponding author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.

The Organiser reserves the right to remove any abstract that does not comply with the above.
